Be confident about your success in Network Marketing?

I remember my first real one on one presentation for my Network Marketing business, I was a little nervous and quite scared that I would forget what I had learned about the company and the pay plan and all the other things I had been taught to do when doing a Network Marketing presentation.

The first thing I did once we had introduced ourselves, was to start asking some question because I wanted to find out about the guy I was talking to and asking question is the best way to do that. The meeting went quite well and I went through most of the things I was taught to go through and the meeting concluded with me giving him some extra material to go through and a promise that I would follow him up in the next 48 hours.

It all sound pretty good doesn’t it? I interviewed the guy told him about “my opportunity” and gave him a CD to listen to, we shook hands and both went our separate ways, that’s the way it goes right then they sign up and you’re on your way to your first million?

Well , when it came time for the follow up I rang and guess what no answer, I was gob smacked I mean this guy needed the money he worked for a company that was making people redundant and he had a family to support  so it would make sense for him to join right? I continued to follow this guy up and left numerous messages and then I struck gold he answered the phone. He burbled something about being really busy at work and hadn’t had time to go through the material, and that he had meant to ring me, but anyway he had decided this wasn’t for him, and he hung up… I was devastated this guy was the real deal, I mean he had all the reasons to join and build a huge business he was professional he was everything I wanted in business. I knew this guy was going to make it to the top in my business and he said it wasn’t for him!

Now here comes the big surprise this was not the only person who said, I’ve decided it’s not for me. So was this a sign that I should I give up, because it seemed that I wasn’t very good at it? Of course not it was a sign that I just need to practise and learn and develop the skills I needed to be a great Network Marketer.

One of the really strong messages that came out of my early learning’s for me was this, if you doubt or second guess yourself the people you speak to pick up on that they actually feel that you are not confident, so doesn’t it make sense that they are not necessarily going to feel confident joining you in your Network Marketing business.

So if this experience is something that you are going through there is a way to make lasting change and that is to build your confidence, and you can do that if you are willing to change some of your perceptions and beliefs.

The very first step you can take in the direction of building your confidence is by accepting that all skills are learned through practise, and in Network Marketing we practise on the job.  So if you think about the perception you currently hold about people saying no, is it something like I failed again or I can’t find people, or people aren’t interested in Network Marketing, or everyone I know isn’t interested. If it is, what about thinking about it from this perspective, there will be people who say yes and people who say no, what I am doing is sifting and sorting and looking for the ones that say yes, and all the time I am doing this my sifting and sorting skills are getting better and better. Secondly make sure you have a mentor or coach, this is one of the beautiful things about our Industry people want you to succeed so they are more than keen to help you, so find a mentor that can invest some time with you and coach you through the processes and help you with your skill set. Make sure the mentor you choose has got the runs on the board and done what you want to do, and it is someone you respect and admire

Every meeting whether it’s a one on one or a phone call will take you one step closer to your success, AS LONG AS you are committed to becoming a successful professional Network Marketer. Because each one of these meetings will be an individual lesson that you can learn from and increase your skill set.

You hear a lot of people say learn from your mistakes and I agree that’s a great way to learn, but an even greater way to learn is from your successes. Often we overlook the things we are successful at or the things we did right and focus purely on what was “wrong” Think about and focus on the things you do well and repeat those things and teach them to others, in no time you will feel you confidence rise and guess what more people will join you in your Network Marketing business they feel confident in doing so

Yours in Success
