Just listened to an amazing leader in the Network Marketing Industry, Carole Escalano, this morning talk about her rise to success in the Network Marketing Industry. Like I have said before you tend to hear the same message over and over again from the great leader’s and the message in this morning’s call was no exception.
The message was about expectation and when I thought about what she had said during the call it promoted me to write this post, because expectation is such an important part of the success process.
We have talked in the past about “desire” and this is the first step to setting goals of any kind BUT if having desire is the only thing you have then I am afraid to tell you, you are in the wishful thinking zone not in the creating your success zone.
Let me show you exactly why I am saying this.
Have you ever decided you really want something? Let’s take being a Success in Network Marketing, okay? You go to a business presentation, you hear all about what success in the Network Marketing Industry means. You are your own boss. You choose the hours you work. You choose the people you spend time with. You work from home and the amount of money you earn only depends on your ability to master the skills you require and how much effort and persistence you put in. AND all of this can be done without investing your entire life savings.
And you say this is it, this is exactly what I want!
You can’t wait to get going, and over the next few days you speak to your five best mates and everyone of them says NO. The next meeting you go to you hear all the positives again off you go ready to conquer the world. You talk to a couple of other people or maybe you invite them to your house for a business presentation. You set up the room you make sure the kids are being taken care of, you lock the dog outside and then you wait and wait and wait and an hour later it hits you no one is coming.
All of a sudden you start to rethink this whole deal. You start thinking things like, no one’s interested in this. Or maybe you think, it must be me I’m no good at it. And then like 80-90% of people who join the Network Marketing Industry you quit! Big Mistake! Do you know the number one reason people quit this Industry is because they condition themselves to the expectation that people don’t and won’t join their business.
To be a success in Network Marketing you must have an expectation that you will succeed and that you will attract the people to you who will build the business alongside you. You also must expect that you will learn the skills you need to learn, and that learning them is a normal part of the process, expect to fail yourself forward.
Having an expectation that people will join your business does not mean that everyone you speak to or that you think should join your business will, it does mean however that by mastering the skills you need to master and doing the things that need to be done, you will end up with a team of people joining your business.
Maybe like me your response to this in the first instance, maybe, of course I expect to be a Success in Network Marketing! I wouldn’t be doing it if I didn’t think I could do it! That’s not my issue I just need to find the “right” people!
You know what I laughed at myself out loud when I responded that way, because I realised I had an expectation that the “wrong” people joined me!
We are funny creatures, never wrong or right we just have some belief’s that don’t serves us very well. My recommendations to you just check out what you are saying to yourself about your success or the people in your team and you just might find you need to adjust your expectations.
Thanks again for reading my post, I look forward to hearing all about your achievements
Yours in Success
