What do you expect from your Network Marketing business?

Have you ever really paid attention to what you really expect from your Network Marketing business, note I asked what you really expect not what you think you want.

There is an incredible difference in these two things, for example about 4 million people a week buy a lottery ticket wanting to win but the majority expect they will either not win at all or they will win something small, because other people win the big prizes not them, or so they believe.

When it comes to Network Marketing most people who join see the potential of a Network Marketing business however it soon becomes apparent that so many of them want success in Network Marketing and yet they expect they are going to fail or not succeed to the level they want.

You have the ability to change your expectation at any time, it just requires a little mental effort and that is something each of us can do. So why is it important to consider what your expectations are? You get what you expect, so doesn’t it make sense then to make sure that you expect the things you want?

Often in Network Marketing you hear stories of the challenges people face when they are building their businesses, and it’s true there are challenges. We have skills to learn and we need to practise those skills once we have learned them, and during our practising sometimes we may not always get the outcome we planned on getting.

When this happens some of us begin to think that we are not good at doing what we need to do and start doubting our abilities, when we do that we start to create an expectation that we are not going to get it right or that we will fail.

So to make sure your expectations line up with what you say you want, just do a quick check up ask yourself if you were about to talk to a friend of yours about taking a look at your business opportunity do you have thoughts like this:

  • I really want to talk to Bill about my business but I bet you if I do he will be like so many of the others I have spoken to and he will say it’s not for him, I am also a bit scared to speak to him about in case he thinks I am trying to sell something to him.

Or are your thoughts like this:

  • I really want to talk to Bill about my business and I hope I get the chance to because it will be a great chance for me to practise my presentation skills and who knows Bill just might be interested in taking a look at it, it might just prove worthwhile for both of us

As you can see the first thought is filled with doubt and an expectation that that things aren’t going to work out.

The second thought is filled with expectation that things are possible and that it’s just a process. In both cases the thing you want is the same, you want people to join your Network Marketing Business, however you will always end up with what you expect which is not always that same as what you want.

So if you can get yourself to the point where you expect the process you have to go through to build your network marketing business to be simply to expose people to your opportunity and master the skills of doing that, and the ones who are interested will join and the ones that aren’t wont.  You will find yourself getting better results and you will enjoy the journey of building your Network Marketing business a whole lot more.
