The best way to succeed in Lead Generation

One of the most critical aspects of creating success in your Network Marketing business is having people to talk to or to connect with. There are numerous ways to generate leads successfully; I have listed some of the most common practises.

Belly to belly or face to face, working your warm, network or cold markets. Traditional Advertising,

Flyers, Attending trade shows and fairs, Seminars and Events, buying Generic Leads.  Most of these methods are commonly referred to as Old School.

New school methods of Lead Generation , generally, consist of, Online Marketing and Social Media, a predominance of using technology.

So which one of these methods works Old School or New School? Which method of building is going to create the greatest Success in your Network Marketing business?   BOTH!

I have built my business both ways Old School and New School and I can tell you they both work.

To best way to succeed at Lead Generation no matter whether you use old or new school methodologies, you must develop the skills of building relationships. You must really connect with people find out about them what they want and what they are looking for.

If you are using Old School methods, a really easy way to connect with people is to ask them questions about themselves. Are they happy where they are currently? What if anything would they change if they could? Questions will always be the answers to everything you want to know. Ask the best questions you will get the best answers.

I hear so many people just simply pitch their business to prospects and take no time or interest in finding out anything about the person they are speaking to. The I listen to them say time after time people aren’t interested in Network Marketing! It’s not that people aren’t interested in Network Marketing it’s that you are not interested in the people!

New School methods are also a really simple way to connect with people. The internet and Social Media provides such an incredible platform to connect with people and get to know them. You can blog use websites, forums or face book, Linkedin, twitter each one of these methods provides amazing opportunities.

When I started my Network Marketing career, it was all belly to belly, get in front of people was how I was told to build my business so that’s what I did. Fortunately for me building relationships with people was a huge part of my corporate success, so it was a fairly natural process to want to do that.

However, there were many times when I let the lure of creating a few extra dollars for myself or achieving the next rank overtake the desire to build relationships and you know what the people that I sponsored into my business when I was thinking more about me, they  didn’t work out in fact I can say I spent more time trying to get those people to do something, which by the way they never did, than I did finding and recruiting the right people into my business.

To really succeed at lead generation you must take a genuine interest and care about other people. One of the best habits I recommend you create in yourself is; Seek first to understand then be understood, I learned this habit from Stephen Covey from the book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, and it has really served me well.

So let’s cut right to the chase here. To succeed at lead generation, you must possess a couple of key things.

  1. A real interest in others
  2. A Lead generation system that is effective
  3. A system that anyone who joins your team can duplicate

So we have talked about point number one. What about a lead generation program that is effective? And a system that anyone who joins you can duplicate?
